Spring floral design workshop

Last night I had the opportunity to lead a spring flower arranging workshop at Jenkin's Arboretum, one of my favorite places (and if you haven't been there you should go check it out!).  A lovely group of ladies attended, and they showed some impressive floral design talent.

Here's my "sample"...

my arrangement

We started out with some of my favorite mossy pots, and a selection of spring flowers.  Lavender larkspur, light blue delphinium, lavender stock, pink lisianthus, peach lilies, heather and waxflower.

The process...

And here are some of the ladies' finished designs...

Don't they look great?!  All the arrangements turned out beautifully. It's always such a thrill to see how everyone starts out with the same "ingredients", and the same basic design idea, and how each arrangement takes on a different personality, as each person adds their own artistry.  I'm always impressed!

I really enjoyed this workshop, thank you to Jenkin's, and to those who attended.  Hope you all enjoy your beautiful spring creations!

And, don't you just love the little butterflies perched on the gift packages?

And the fabulous fabric butterflies on the cocktail table arrangements?

Succulents, birch, nests, butterflies, anemones, hyacinth and lots of greenery - these are a few of my favorite things!

Summertime

Thought I'd share a few pictures from a very "summery" wedding we worked on this past year...

Bride's bouquet

Maid of Honor's bouquet

Cute bouts!
Centerpieces
Lots of beautiful summer colors - shades of blue, salmon and hot pink, and centerpieces in my favorite antique blue mason jars.  A gorgeous summer day at Historic Waynesborough, and it looked like a fabulous, fun party!

Philadelphia Wedding

We were so thrilled to see one of our favorite weddings from this past year featured in Philadelphia Wedding magazine, the Spring/Summer issue.
Adie and Scott's wedding was so very lovely.  They put so much thought into the style and the feel of their event, and all the details came together beautifully!

Adie's bouquet is one of my most favorite designs I've ever worked on! Peonies, roses, ranunculus, delphinium, tweedia, thistle, scabiosa, sweet peas and grape ivy.  Delicious!

All the details were wonderfully documented in the beautiful photography of Julie Melton, of Sweetwater Portraits.  She did such an amazing job of capturing the look and feel of the day, all the fabulous personal touches, and the happiness of a beautiful couple.

Congratulations Adie and Scott!  We absolutely loved your wedding!
